Thanks Coach Wooden!
I love how John Wooden lived his life. One principle that I will never forget is his "make everyday a masterpiece" creed.
You have to give 100% every single day. If you want to give yourself a break and only give it 80% today, that's fine, but know that tomorrow if you wanted to give 120% to make up for yesterday, it's too late. You can only give 100% today. You will NEVER be given a chance to make up for yesterday. You have to make every day a masterpiece. You have to give 100% everyday.
Dang... that's so good I want to swear...
Good bye Coach Wooden! I know that you miss your wife greatly and I'm so happy that you're with her again! Thanks for living a life worth living and for being a role model for us all.
Random Wooden facts:
- 10 National Titles within 12 years.
- Stressed fundamentals, made his team shoot bank shots off the backboard as opposed shots taken at the rim like how players shoot today.
- Played the "High-Post Offense" winning National Titles with smaller teams and larger teams.
- Had 4 undefeated season! FOUR UNDEFEATED SEASONS!
- Almost came to coach at the University of Minnesota, except that the U of M's phone call came minutes too late
- Loved his wife and God.
R.I.P. Coach!
