Summer in Pictures Part 1

Another crazy summer is about to end (Sept 23rd is the first official day of Autumn). Most of the early summer I was doing chores while Pajjar was studying for the Bar, somehow we managed to salvage the rest of our summer and have lots of fun with our friends and family.

Pajjar took me to Duluth because I've never been there before. It was just a random Saturday, we drove up, walked around, took some pictures, and had no set agenda (besides a few comic shops, the lake shore, and the Clayton Jackson McGhie Memorial). Duluth's awesome, I loved it! It's got so much charm.

Pajjar's always wanted to ride in a horse-drawn carriage. After 3+ years of being with me, she finally gets her wish! Sorry for the wait hun...

Here's the memorial. She heard about it in a case from one of her law classes and wanted to check it out. These three African American men, were innocently lynched by a mob. It was a small memorial but quite powerful.

Bob Dylan Way, a street named after Duluth's most famous celebrity: Thee Bob Dylan.

Pajjar and I at The Original Pancake House in Edina. I love good breakfast food, heck, I love bad breakfast food! I just love breakfast food in general! Luckily, our new place is near Egg & I on University. I still have to try Good Day Cafe too.

Here's a picture of Taying (Pajjar's youngest brother) wearing a shirt with a dragon on it (awesome!) and little Xuying (Pajjar & my nephew) at Como Park Zoo. I personally love Como Park Zoo because it's free and a lot of fun! It's not a huge zoo and has a smaller selection, but it's free and less than 10 minutes away. Plus they have those machines that make the single-colored, wax animals, like at Brookfield Zoo in IL.

Here's another picture of Taying & Xuying at Valley Fair. This summer I finally went to Valley Fair. It's not too bad! It's way smaller than Six Flag Great America, north of Chicago, but still a lot of fun. It's rides aren't as intense but still good. The good thing about Valley Fair is that it's small enough to finish in half a day and you still have plenty of time to grab some pho or go to a buffet for dinner. My favorite ride of the day... the buffet!

Pajjar oldest of her younger brothers, Ho-Shia, also moved in with us becuase he'll be attending the U of MN's medical school.

Here's a picture of him at his White Lab Coat Ceremony. Very cool! He's in the 2nd row with the plaid/flannel looking tie.

Pajjar and I got to go to Philly for Lyoce & Mayuko's wedding w/ Kelvin & Katie. That's Independence Hall, where the Constituion was written.

The exact room where the Constitution was inked. I learned a lot about the Constition and our nation's founding fathers were amazing people! There were moments where I was in complete awe, covered with goose bumps!

Philly, the City of Brotherly Love.

The steps that Rocky climbed. That's me on the right and Kelvin on the left w/o a shirt on.

Pajjar posing before the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The view of Philly from on top of the steps.

Pajjar infront of a frame representing where Benjamin Franklin's home once stood. Pop quiz! Was Benjamin Franklin ever a presendent?

My Sundae I got from Franklin Fountain, as seen on Man vs. Food. I must go back! it was delicious! This ice cream was the creamiest tasting ice cream that I've ever had!

Pajjar and I had the honor of participating in Llyoce & Mayuko's wedding. Pajjar had to plan a bridal party hours after we landed and I got to play guitar during the ceremony. Congrats to the happy couple! Here here!

Pajjar and I at Llyoce & Mayuko's reception. Lloyce & Mayuko's wedding was held at a mansion that was once owned by the Jeffords family. A family known for breeding great race horses like Man O' War. Man O' War is considered to be one of the greatest race horses of all time. He won 20 out of 21 races and produced over 60 horses that have won races. Man O' War also produced a horse that produced Seabiscuit. I learned all of this from the Park Ranger. I honestly felt like I was on hollowed ground!

There are still more pictures to put up, so come back later this week for an update! Thanks!
