my happy medium...

in the last few months, ive been thinking a lot with these two ideas...two extreme ideas that happen to be on opposite sides of the spectrum. on one hand, there's this desire to make our life as parallel as it can be to the "american dream." what's next for me and johan since we're married is the following:

1) buy a home
2) pop out a few kids
3) buy a mini-van
4) have annual family vacations
5) continue working for the next 40 years to sustain the above four items

on the other hand, i think to myself, screw it. who cares about having a 401K, pension plan, and retirement planning? you work so hard to have all this money for what? what good does it do you to make tons of money? you can't bring it with you to heaven?!! i dream of living in a little cottage by some bluffs that overlook the sea. to wake up every morning and grab my coffee and fresh bread from the local bakery down the street...to have a carefree lifestyle. i may be poor, but i'd be happy and have daily reminders of the beautiful world He created for us to breathe in...

i dont think there's a right or wrong way to do things. honestly, this is just my personal struggle of where to find my happy medium. i suppose either of these two lifestyles could work. i found my answer one sunday as we were worshiping at church:

"take my life and let it be,
all for You and for Your glory,
take my life and let it be Yours."

wherever i end up in life, wherever WE end up in life, may my main focus be that God is glorified in who i am and what i do. it's not always easy to do this, that's for sure...it's actually really hard to do, especially for someone like me who always wants to be in control and never wants to relinquish control to someone else...even if that someone else is Jesus!

well, i wanted to post up these pics of my two nephews, xuying and chuseng. they're so adorable!!!

XUYING ROGER YANG

CHUSENG SILAS YANG

in both of these pictures, the boys are wearing a DKNY outfit i bought xuying when he was younger. too cute! now that chuseng is around the same age my sister put the outfit on him too, so i wanted to take a picture with chuseng like how i did with xuying. =) you can tell how much i've aged huh? i wish i could stay young forever lol...seriously...*sigh*!!!

btw, i wanted to say congratulations to my sister mitchia and my brother-in-law yao because they are expecting a baby girl! she is due this september, and we are all very excited for their first child.

God bless!

PAJJAR!!!! You have not aged! You look exactly the same! And for a moment there both Xuying and Chuseng looked the same too. LOL.

Man, those boys are too cute! You actually look younger in the picture with Chuseng, not saying that you look older in the picture with Xuying either! :)

One day, we will be debt free, in our own house, with kids in our lives. I have a strong feeling we will.
