the place is older. it was built back in the 1920's. the brother's who own the building have had it in their family since the 1940's. as you can see, there are radiators, so we'll have to purchase AC units for the apartment since there's no central air. the kitchen is small too. and so is the bathroom. i also wish it was hard wood floors instead of carpet. but my friend who lives down the street from us is in the same first floor unit like us with the same layout and they have wood floors, but she says she wished she had carpet b/c the floors get cold during the winter. and that is true...the closets are really small too, like they are TINY! haha. it won't even fit half of johan's clothes. lol. we will have to be pretty creative with IKEA designing!!! =)
so you're probably wondering what do we like about the place then? location location location hehe. lake harriet is within a mile. quang's and pho tau bay is close by. uptown is nearby with lots of restaurants and shops! and a wine bar/cafe is a few blocks away! we are going to eat really well in that area--i can tell already hehe. i mean the apartment is clean and we could imagine ourselves living there too. the building is owner occupied and will take care of any repairs. and rent includes most utilities (including internet), so all we have to pay is cable and electricity!

now that we got a place, we've been packing like crazy. i have to say we are doing pretty good and have been productive with our time. we still have a few things left to take care of, but we are pretty excited to be in south minneapolis!
good night!

I can't wait to see what you've done with your new place. It's nice. I like it!
yes, invite us over soon! September is too close... but we really do think it would be cool if we were your neighbors across the hall. i'd bring over things whenever I bake. Lord, please let me get a great job soon...!
