Spring Training Starts Today!!!

YES! Catchers and pitchers report today for Spring Training! Here are some Cubbies that we lost, and that I will miss. But it’s baseball, it’s part of the game.


Good bye Kerry Woods. I hope Marmol can hold the down the 9th. He’s one of the best relievers in the game, let’s hope that translates to the 9th inning as well.

Hello Kevin Gregg. He did get 61 saves over the past two years on a mediocre team. He’s our Marmol backup plan. If all fails, there’s always Ryan Dempster again, haha!!!

Good bye Henry Blanco. If only you were left handed…

Good bye Mark DeRosa. You were probably my favorite player last year and if only you were left handed…

Hello Aaron Miles. You’re lucky that you’re a switch hitter.

Hello Milton Bradley. I like your numbers (.436 OBP last year). You would be a great #3 hitter for us because Lee hits too many DP and can’t hit to the right. Just stay healthy and out of trouble.

With Carlos Marmol & Kevin Gregg in the 8th & 9th inning, our bullpen still looks pretty strong with Samardzja, Cotts, Gaudin, Vizcaino. Hopefully those guys can keep us in the game.
