I’m actually talking about Magic and the Legacy format. Up here in MN, Legacy is huge! Who actually plays Extended but the Pros, but even some of the Pros will say that they like Legacy more than Extended.
I was happy to see that Pat McGregor and that Sam Cocchiarella did well this past weekend at the SCG Legacy $5K Open. Pat and Sam are regulars at Monster's Den, which is the premier place to play Legacy up here in MN. Pat won 1st with an Agro Loam deck. Agro Loam is a super fast synergistic deck that sacs or discards its lands to gain an advantage by cycling them for more cards, or to Mox Diamond, Countryside Crusher, or Siesmic Assualt. Life from the Loam returns those lands back to your hand. Eventually, that synergy + Tarmogoyf or an 8/8 Countryside Crusher will kill you.
Sam got 3rd playing ‘Folk. Not Treefolk but the original ‘Folk; Merfolk. I’m probably about halfway done building my ‘Folk deck. I also just need a few more cards to finish my Legacy Dredge deck as well. But I want to PT it some more before I buy the next cards that I need.
The “43 Lands” deck looks really interesting and my kind of deck to play. It’s called “43 Lands” because it has 43 lands in it. I kills you by eventually beating you down with Mishra’s Factory and other man-lands. It’s a really explosive deck because of Manabond, which allows you to put all lands in your hand into play for 1 green mana. "43 Lands" also utilizes Life from the Loam.
SCG is a huge blessing to the Magic community by putting on these events and for giving the Legacy players some love.

i agree, there are some people that go as far as playing it exlusively, now thats too crazy
kind of a random question but why do players always shuffle their hands like crazy?
