i took off work since the 23rd of december and went back to work today. i worked from home though, so technically i won't be back in the office till tomorrow. it was really good spending time with family during these last few weeks. for Christmas, johan and i went to visit his family in rockford, IL. i actually haven't seen my in-laws since last Christmas, so it was good to talk and catch up. hopefully it won't be a whole year before i see them again! btw, i'm so HAPPY d-wade and the heat beat the lakers on christmas day! that was like the best gift. haha.

riley and kameron were super cute and have grown so much. yij geu and nyaj bow are hard workers and we hope they'll have more kids in the near future. my mother-in-law is hoping jeremiah will find a *special someone* soon, and we do too, but in God's timing of course and if it's something jeremiah desires in his heart rite now. it'd be great for me to have a sister-in-law who marries into the family like myself. :)
we left rockford and came straight home to hang out with my family for a week. every single nite we tried sleeping at the same house together, so we rotated between my house and my sisters' houses. its always great being with my family. my brother, taying, could NOT wait to open his Christmas gifts. gosh, he exhibited a lot of patience for a little kid though. towards the end he just started getting crabby and mad for having to wait till after Christmas. i give him a lot of credit for a 6 year old. hehe. our family basically just ate a lot and spent time together.
now everyone is gone back to their homes and the holidays are over. it's always so quiet in our house after the family leaves. it's pretty sad coming home to an empty house. for new years, johan and i just had a quiet nite in. ate sushi with our friends for dinner and then just stayed home. the weather was icy and slippery that nite, so thank God for protecting everyone during their travels.
im not ready for this new year, but i am. i'm glad to leave the bad things behind. all my struggles and tears. all my worries and fears. im glad i conquered them (or suppressed them haha), so that i could start anew. i am really looking forward to growing in/with the Lord this year. i am ready to change my attitude and be more: JOYFUL. that's one of my main goals. to just be more joyful overall.
well if you guys have time check out my cousins french bakery in dinktytown. they are from france and decided to start their own pastry shop. their shop is called "le crazy taste." if this picture isn't alluring, i don't know what is! lol. their new york cheesecake is delicious. my brother's fiance doesn't even really like cheesecake and she thought it was super good!
more to come in the next few days! i have so many blog ideas, i hope to get them all down in the next couple weeks. hope you all had a merry Christmas and a happy new years friends! i'll leave you with me and johan's new favorite song. =)
