ur a rockstar to me!

now that i have my iphone, i read the Bible a whole lot more. i love it! it's so much easier to just read from my Bible app whenever i want to: as i'm waiting for johan to pick me up from work, as i'm working out, or as i'm taking the bus. it's really cool. it has all these different translations and also you can search for a verse or term just with a click of a button! when i got my iphone i decided that i would start from the book of Genesis and read forward, so it's been refreshing to go back and read all of those stories you grew up hearing about in Sunday School. i've learned how awesome it is to find favor with God that He would reveal Himself to you whenever He wanted--like He did to Jacob.

i also loved reading the story about Joseph. andy stanley did a series on joseph awhile ago titled, "the legend of joe jacobson" and it was one of my favorites! of course i probably say that about all of north point's series haha, but it was really thought-provoking. the main theme was: what would you do if you were absolutely confident God was with you?

well if i knew FOR SURE that God was really with me, then i'd live my life a certain way, make decisions confidently, have more joy when tough times fell, etc. well, the truth is: God IS with us and we can hold onto that confidence just as surely as we do that the sun will shine tomorrow. it's so crazy because i live my life not knowing at times if He's really with me that when i hear andy stanley ask the above question, i think to myself, "omg, if i was absolutely confident that God was with me i'd live my life so differently!" as you can see i'm like the man in james 1:23-24 who looks in the mirror, observes himself, walks away, and has already forgotten how he looks like...

last nite johan and i watched this two hour documentary on foo fighters and it was really cool. i could tell that johan was super duper happy. i asked him if seeing the band perform in concert on the show made him want to be a rock star and he said "yeah". hehe. he just doesn't know it yet, but he's a rock star to me!!! i believe in his skills and abilities and i know that if he really wanted to pursue playing the guitar or building pedals full-time he could. he's really cool and as his wife i'm his biggest fan! =)

i'm so glad tomorrow is thursday already. just a couple more days till our weekend back to IL! i don't even remember the last time we were down there to hang out with the aurora peeps??? it's been a longgg time.

goodnite!!!!
