Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22 NIV)
Reading. I wish I did more of it! Because of school work and my many hobbies, I don't have a whole lot of time to devote to reading, actually I don't make enough time to read. But if I somehow manage to read a couple of really good books over the period of a couple of months, my life is totally different. I can look back and see how my life has changed over those past couple of months. But if I go a couple of months and don't read I can see how the past couple of months have not been as enriched. I'm going to commit myself to reading, I'm going to carve out at least 3, hopefully 4 hours a week devoted to reading! I mean seriously! What do you do on Saturday mornings anyway? Try reading for a couple of hours!
Just think, if you read 3-4 book about a topic then you have more knowledge than most people about that particular field. Imagine if you read 3-4 books about personal finance or 3-4 books about church culture or 3-4 books about C++ or 3-4 books about how to play basketball! In a matter of months you could change your life by changing your spending habits or you could change the direction of your church or you could learn how to make your own operating system and become a billionaire or you could become the smartest basketball player in town! Books are amazing!
To all of you who say they don't have enough time to read. Let's look at C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity," most audio forms of it are about 6-7 hours long. This book will also require you to reflect and think a lot so lets tack on another 3-4 hours. So in essence, it will take you 10-11 hours to read "Mere Christianity." 9-10 hours is not that bad when you consider how much you will learn from it. Let's all try to read more okay? Okay!

Yes, this thing is awesome! A boombox WITH a keyboard!
