So it’s Tuesday, which means that it’s time for me to review something.
So this past Sunday as Pajjar and walked into church, there was something different about the setup on stage. There was no gear. No drum set, no guitars, no piano, just a large black curtain with another gold curtain in front of it. On the side screens it said, “My Name is Daniel.” Announcements were made, informing us that we have lost one of our members this past week due to a freak accident where one person tried to save the life of another and both lives were lost. Lord, breathe your understanding and peace on us all as we cope with our earthly lost and heavenly gain.
Then the musical started. Yes, a musical. No praise and worship, no message, just a musical. About five minutes into the show I saw people get up and leave because they were not impressed. THEIR LOSS! The musical was about how Daniel, his friends, and how the rest of Israel got captured by the Babylonians and how the prophet Jeremiah spoke about this. The next hour covered the next 70 years of the history of Israel. In the end, only Daniel was left alive but it was absolutely amazing how God was so faithful to all of Israel during that time.
The musical was performed by three actors. They often would switch costumes and characters within seconds and it was incredibly entertaining! I laughed a lot, I smiled a lot, I was entertained the entire time, I was completely engaged, but most importantly I was brought to the verge of tears many times because I was reminded of how amazingly faithful God was and how perfect His plans are! Church was awesome! Church is awesome!
