I’ve been reading this fantastic, life-inspiring, challenging book that’s entitled “Wide Awake” by Erwin McManus. It’s been actually really hard to read because it’s what I need to hear, but it’s exactly what I don’t want to hear. It’s like when you were younger and your parents would lecture you about taking school seriously, and you know you should, but you really want to tune out the words that are coming out of their mouth? Yeah, reading this book is like that! *sigh* It’s as though this book was written for this particular time in my life, and it’s really awesome, but really difficult because change is due in my life…..
This past weekend, we had the honor of hanging out with Mai Kao and Josh. I didn’t get to go shopping with the girls on Saturday, but I wish I could have! They found really great deals at the MOA. I had some family obligations to attend to, but met up with them later for some Korean bbq. The next day after church, Johan and I met up with them for some Chinese buffet and then they took off. I hope we’ll find a way to see them again in August! Johan and I will have to figure out our schedules and see if we can make a trip to visit Josh and Mai Kao before they leave for China, as well as visit our parents.
Last week, Johan gave his testimony at Living Water’s youth night. It was his first time giving his testimony. I didn’t know that until I asked him the day of! It was a very heartwarming story because it was one that most teens could relate to. I have to say that I was really proud (and a teeny bit embarrassed haha) of my husband and his dorky ways. I love him! He did a great job and I pray that some teens will be able to walk away having learned that God uses people from all different backgrounds to do His will.
It’s another busy weekend! Tonight we’re going to bbq with the Living Water Youth. Then tomorrow the guys are supposed to golf, while Gaojai and I go shopping at the outlets. Then Sunday the guys are drafting again of course. I’ll have to find a new book to read while they do that! Haha. We are moving next week, so Johan and I have to start packing. My family is also moving in 2 weeks to Michigan. I can’t believe it! *sigh* It makes me depressed that the day has crept up so fast, but don't worry: I’m in complete denial that they’re going to be gone soon. I’m going to keep lying to myself that they're not leaving. Ugh.
Johan still hasn’t been able to blog about “The Dark Knight” and we’re about to watch it a second time already! Haha. Jk. Although I do owe my cousin, Tim, because I promised I would take him. Hope you guys have a great weekend.
Love, p

So... I finally took the time to catch with you guys - at least a little bit: it's not quite the same as in person but your blog will do for now :). Take care!
