As I pulled into the parking lot to vote there were people holding signs for Mark Laliberte. I saw them earlier this morning and the same people where still there around 3pm. It was really cool to see people that passionate and literally stand out there all day. The passion was beautiful!
I got to the polls and there were about 20 people in front of me. This mom had her little daughter with her, she was probably about 4 or 5. She was super excited to see her mom vote. She kept on saying "My mommie is going to vote! My mommie is going to vote!" After the mom voted, the lady next to the polling machine gave the little girl an "I Voted!" sticker. She was so happy! It was beautiful to see a mom demonstrate her right to vote.
As I went to the Source, there was an older chinese lady standing on the corner holding a sign, getting pushed around by the wind. As I got closer, I realized it was Gail Chang Bohr. It was cool see her actually doing her own campaigning. There were people saying "Hi!" to her people honking. The unity was beautiful.
I won 7 packs of cards last night at the Source's Tuesday Night Standard Tournament. There was this young Hmong kid, around 14 years old, that hung out with me and kept following me around. At the end of the night, I gave him a free booster, his face lit up. Generousity is beautiful.
I got home just in time to catch up with my wife and see that NBC was offically declaring Obama as the winner of the Presidential election. Seeing all of those people in Grant was amazing! I wished I was there. Hope is beautiful.
John McCain's speach last night was incredibly humbling. I know how hard he and his campaign worked. I know how much people wanted him to be president. But his speach that focused not creating more division but rather unity was beautiful. Humility is beautiful.
This morning as went to class, I was talking to my group project partners, a Somalian guy, a Somalian girl, an older White guy, and a younger white girl. We first talked about our project but then we started to talk about the election. I got scared because I was afraid that there were going to be hard feelings, but there was nothing but relief and more hope. Community is beautiful.
I'm at work now and I just realized how grateful I am for every hour that God gives me a chance to earn some money. I am grateful for every hour of work I have. Gratfullness is beautiful.
Tonight after I get off of work. Pajjar and I will be attending a banquet for our cousin Tim's football season. He totally dominated other players, he played both ways and for both squads. We're so proud of him! Hard work is beautiful.
I can't wait to worship corporately at church on Sunday! I love the music, I love the message, and I love the people! I love worshiping with people of all opinions and type around me. One reason why I like Open Door is because everyone is different from you. Especially with what happend this week, I'm more excited then ever to sing songs to my Lord with Democrats, Republicans, Independent, Constitutionalist, Green Party Member, etc. Diversity is beautiful.
Take care & God bless!
