Does anyone here read Fast Company? I don't read a lot of business magazines but when I do, I gravitate to Fast Company first.
They're no Harvard Business Review in regards to research and content, but to me, Fast Company presents ideas and stats better than anyone else, thus getting their point across to me.
This graph is from the Fast Company website, which is full of content! This graph is about die hard baseball fans. Granted they could of just printed out a graph and loaded it with numbers, percentages, and other data that most people wouldn't understand. But instead they decide to make it more visual and it makes way more sense! (Thanks to Steve Duenes, a graphic designer from the New York Times.)And yes, the Cubs have the most "Die Hard" fans based upon the following forumla:
That's right! Do you guys see that last variable? Home LOSSES/Home GAMES??? If the Yankees or Red Sox lost more, I bet they would have less fans. But not us Cubs fans! We're loyal weather you're we're losing or winning! We're the "lovable losers" after all!Let's look at another article (you might have to click on the picture so that you can zoom in on it):
This one's pretty long but it makes a lasting impression doesn't it?I just read an interesting article about why Bill Gates believes that Tablet PCs should be used with a pen and not with your finger like the iPad. Very interesting... I also just read that Wal-Mart is more green and sustainable (environmentally) than Target is. Granted Target does give back to their local schools, but the truth is that Wal-Mart has done more for their communities than Target has proportionally to the size of their revenue. *interesting...*
Next time your in a book store, look for Fast Company! Even if you're not into business, the graphs and pictures are very interesting!

Hey Johan and Pijar - In case you know anyone who is interested, I am working on a daddy/daughter fundraiser dance to raise funds for a nonprofit organization called Support Our School. All proceeds will go to SOS for work on a Hmong school selection project to help non-English speaking families. If you know anyone who might like to bring their little girl to the dance please send them to http://popsandlollies.blogspot.com/. Pass this on if you can!
