I remember I was walking around a lake with Vern a few years back. It was almost sundown, the tempurature was warm but the breeze was cool. It was peaceful and it felt great to be outside. Then Vern said "What if all of the sudden, a giant monster rose out of this lake!?!" We kept on walking and as I looked out at the calm, dark lake, I thought about it and I honestly got scared! I got the shivers and I had to literally shake my nervousness off of me. I replied, "That would be awesome Vern!"
Last year one of my coworkers said that she saw "the lake monster" while training for a marathon at Lake Harriet. Then the conversation got all weird about monsters and ghosts. That's an acutal photo of "the lake monster" in Lake Harriet in Minneapolis last year.
This morning, Marjean, one of my coworkers told me that she saw the lake monster while kayaking this past weekend and that she took a picture of it!
The Lake Monster actually has a name, her name is Minnie, and she's placed in a random lake in Minneapolis by the Minneapolis Parks Foundation. Here's the website. Marjean's picture can also be found on the 2nd page.
I really want to rent a boat and get as close as possible and take a picture with it!
