Sorry it's been a while again. Here'a quick recap of what's been going in our lives:
- A couple weeks back, I had to go do some AmeriCorp training. Our regular program director was out, so I had to go in his place. The training was pretty good, I'm pretty excited that we got the grant and very proud of the whole AmeriCorp program. AmeriCorp is a great way to serve your country but in a non-military way (Nothing against the military. My sister and brother-in-law are Veterans. I love them and am grateful for the opportunity that the military provided for them).
Here's a program that is partially ran by AmeriCorp members. It's called the Harlem Children Zone, also known as the Harlem Project:
It's pretty cool that there's an organization in Harlem that will help pregnant mothers & fathers, even before their child is born, to help them make sure that thier child will graduate from college.
- Ho-Shia (Pajjar's younger brother), just moved in with us. Amazingly, our place isn't too cramped! Granted he doesn't even have a place for his tooth brush, but it's only temporary until we move into our new place.
- Speaking of our new place. During the month of August we'll be moving to St. Paul, near the U of M campus. We wanted to live near the U because Ho-Shia will be attending their medical school, so we wanted an easy, short commute for him and plus we like that area.
- Today is Pajjar's first day taking the Bar Exam. She's been literally studying 8+ hours a day for this thing for the past couple of months. It's been really stressful for her, so stressful, that she's been having trouble sleeping. We've tried relaxing and unwinding at the end of the day, even over-the-counter medicine, but she still lays in bed till 5 in the morning, wide awake or waking up every other hour. Please pray her, pray that she's able to focus and that she does well. Thanks!
