Gorillaz - Plastic Beach

So for a good 3 months while Pajjar studied for her BAR Exam, she would listen to the Gorillaz' new CD, Plastic Beach. I was so proud of her! More so for studying hard than for listening to Plastic Beach. *wink wink*

According to NPR's All Songs Considered listeners, the best album of the year so, as of late June, 2010, was the Gorillaz' Plastic Beach. Sorry Drake, looks like you'll have to get your acclaim and respect from MTV teeny boppers and college/post-college clubbers.

Let me tell you guys that this album is an awesome adventure for your ears. When you listen to something that criss-crosses genres like this album does, it just sounds so refreshing and timeless, all at once. Granted there's no "Top 40" Radio single hit on this album, but I personally prefer a solid album over a 4 minute pop song surrounded by 2 minutes worth of radio commercials any day!

My favorite song of the summer has been "Stylo." I love getting off of work and driving home with the windows down to this song. After a long day at work, there's nothing like listening to a song that just uplifts you and prepares you for the 7 hours of freedom! The video for "Stylo" can be found @ 4:36.

Summer's come and will soon be gone. Hopefully you've been able to associate a song or two, preferably an album to help you watermark this time in your life. Music is great isn't it!?!
