Whoa...

Wow what a coincidence! So a couple of posts back, was an entry partially about my guitar, my G&L ASAT Special, and then Andy from Pro Guitar Shop, puts up another video about the versatility of the G&L ASAT Special. Andy does work for company that is trying to sell you things but his playing is so good that it works. I love my G&L ASAT Special.

Some of you guys may not now this but last week, my acoustic guitar got stolen at work. It was a 2004 Martin D-16RGT that had a custom finish on it. All D-16RGTs only have the top of the guitar finished, the rest of the guitar has a satin finish, but my D-16RGT had the whole body (top, sides, and back) finished, as well as the back of the neck. The finish on my D-16RGT looked amazing! Most of the time when someone tries to change a satin finish to a gloss finish, you can sometimes see some swirl marks in the finish or some unevenness in the finish near the edges of the guitar, but not on my guitar. It looked amazing and the gloss finish was crystal clear and even all around. Also, my guitar had the sweetest Spruce Top ever because the grain was super wide. I personally like the sound and look of a wider grain than a thinner grain, but that's just me. I got it for about $1200 a month before Pajjar and I got married from Willies Guitar Shop in St. Paul. The cops have photos, the serial number, and a good description of my guitar, so if the robber tries to sell the guitar in the Twin Cities area, then it should pop up. I've posted it up on Craigslist as well as sent emails to all of the local guitar shop in the area about my missing guitar.

Willy from Willies Guitar Shop emailed me back yesterday emphatizing with me, which I greatly appreciated, and said that he'll keep an eye out for it because he remembers how amazing that guitar was. He even offered me a discount and that if I was ever interested in a guitar or amp, that I can come and take something home for a couple of days to try it out. In his words, "He trusts me." After all, I've spent plenty of money at his guitar shop already. That's where I bought my ASAT and a bunch of pedals. Willy is different from most guitar store owners. He's an accomplished guitar player himself and is friends with lots of celebrities. I remember hearing on NPR, about how Sheryll Crow took a couple of guitars from Willy's and how she owed him some money (this was before she got super famous). One day he was hanging out with her and she told him to pick a guitar of his choice, from her personal collection, as payment. That guitar he took is still in his shop today. Now that's cool!

As much as I miss my Martin D-16RGT, if someone stole my G&L ASAT, I think I would be in tears. I love my ASAT! So yesteday, Pro Guitar Shop posts up another video about the G&L ASAT Special and how awesome it is! And guess what! Andy's playing nothing but the Black Keys!

AWESOME!!!

Who are the Black Keys? They're an duet from Ohio that just knows how to rock out.

They've released 8 albums since 2002. They often are compared to the White Stripes because they're both 2-piece bands, have a some-what similar sound, and their names are opposites of each other. Both are lead by great lyricists and guitar players. I love them both! Time to go learn some Black Keys guitar riffs!
