Ali in the Jungle
I just saw this commercial and it was absolutely inspiring. I feel unstoppable right now! I like that clip of Quintin "Rampage" Jackson into LT, it's very cool!
The song is called "Ali in the Jungle" by the Hours. It's amazing that this song was originally released in 2006 and it's taken four years for it to reach this point. Here's the music video:
I hope these guys open up for U2 when they come to Minneapolis. I would love to see these guys live.
Here's the chorus:
Like Ali in the jungle (Mohammed Ali in the Rumble in the Jungle vs. George Foreman, yes the Foreman Grill guy, one of the greatest boxing match in history),
Like Nelson in jail (Nelson Mandela was wrongfully imprisoned for 27 years for standing up for human rights, since his release in 1990, he continues to fight for human rights like the right to breath, the right to be happy, the right to be free, the right to live... basic, essential rights that every human should have),
Like Simpson on the mountain (Joe Simpson was climbing down the Peruvian Andes with Simon Yates. Simpson fell and broke his leg, his tibia bone splitting his knee. Yates lowered Simpson down the rest of the mountain, a turn of events forced Yates after a few hours in a blizzard to make a decision. Cut Simpson and let him fall down the mountain or die trying to lower Simpson. Yates believed Simpson to be dead and cut Simpson's rope. Over the next 3 1/2 days Simpson crawled down the mountain and over glaciers back to his base camp),
With odds like that, they were bound to fail,
Like Keller in the darkness (Helen Keller who at the age of 1 1/2 became deaf and blind due to an illness, she eventually learned to read and write and communicate with the rest of the world. I can't imagine myself being both blind and deaf and being able to learn to read, write, or communicate. If I was deaf, I could still sign language but Helen Keller managed to learn how to sign being deaf AND blind!),
Like Adam's in the dock (Sam Adams? One of the architects behind the American Revolution?)
Like Ludwig Van, how I loved that man, well the guy went deaf and didn't give a damn, no... (Not even Beethoven's lost of hearing prevented him from composing some of the greatest music ever made).
It's the greatest comeback since Lazaus (Any comeback that can be compared to Lazarus is a great comeback).
Javis Cocker was stated, "They understand what music is for–it's for human beings to communicate with other human beings. It's that simple, it's that important. Let them into your life. You won't regret it".
I concur, I love it when a story, whether it be in music, book, movie, or in person. I love a story that moves and connects me to my human spirit.
