My morning commute is only about 15 minutes so I have to choose my 3-4 songs wisely because they set the mood for the rest of my day. Here are a couple of songs that I've been spinning on my iPod lately.
January Wedding by the Avett Brothers
The Avett Brothers are simple in their delivery but brutely honest. This song reminds me of all of the newly engaged couples in my life (I can think of four off the top of my head). I love these lyrics:
"I hope that I don't sound too insane when I say
There is darkness all around us
I don't feel weak but I do need sometimes for her to protect me
And reconnect me to the beauty that I'm missin'
And in January we're gettin' married
No longer does it matter what circumstances we were born in
She knows which birds are singin'
And the names of the trees where they're performin' in the mornin
And in January we're gettin' married
Come January let's get married."
"The Earth is Yours" by Gungor
I love the imagery in the first verse:
"Your voice it thunders
The oaks start twisting
The forest sounds with cedars breaking
The waters see You and start their writhing
From the depths a song is rising
Now it's rising from the ground... Holy..."
Have a great weekend everybody!!!
