HOT-LANTA!

I love 7:22 (www.722.org)!!! I’ve been watching 7:22 for the past 4 years or so and it’s really exposed me to where my faith needs to grow. It is an amazing ministry and a characteristic of an amazing ministry is that it continually listens to God. And it seems like God is telling 7:22 to stop. Yep, that’s right, they’re trusting in God to stop 7:22 and to focus on other parts of the church. Logistically it makes a lot of sense, it’s just hard to see it go. I’ve learned so much from this ministry, especially cool guitar tricks. Like the dotted-eight delay on the guitar @ 1:15 courtesy of Alex Nifong (who is one of my favorite guitar players).

September 23 is their last night. sniff sniff

Here's more worship from North Point (How He Loves Us by John Mark McMillan)

I think, Carlos Witakier (www.ragamuffinsoul.com; one of my favorite blogs), the guy playing the sunburst Taylor electric/acoustic guitar on the left dances like Xay.

But at the same time, it’s also awesome that Chris Tomlin, the Nockels (aka The Artists formerly known as Watermark), and Matt and Beth Redman all have moved to Atlanta, GA to start a church with Louie Giglio. It’s crazy! Talk about getting a good head start! That’s a crazy line-up. That’s like Dream Team of God’s servants, hahaha!

The awesome thing is that North Point church, one of the most innovative churches in America, is totally supporting him in his plant. What! That’s crazy! Churches don’t support a church plant right in their backyard! I know, but it’s true.

Now if this were the Hmong community, I think it would be a slightly different story. If next year, Josh and I decide to plant a church in the heart of the Hmong community up here in MN, I think some churches would look and say “Another 2nd Gen church plant?” or “We don’t need another church” or even “Sure you can! As long as you’re at least 50 miles away from our church.” I know I’m being negative because the truth is that there are some churches that are totally supportive of church plants, but I also know that there are a lot that just want to preserve their ways and their church.

Anyways, 7:22 is gone, but the Passion church is coming soon, and I’m planting a church as well! DLAAB XWB!!!
