HC3

The Hmong Collegiate Christian Conference was time well spent. I was glad to hear that it was being partially sponsored by InterVarsity because I have had many great memories with InterVarsity (aka The University of Illinois at Chicago Multi-Ethnic Intervasity Christian Fellowship Wildcats!).

It was a great honor to co-lead worship for the event and to play with the Aurora team. Ah, the memories. I always knew in back of my head that everything would turn out okay, but there were moments where I had no idea what I was doing and how things were going to turn out. But alas, God was moving and He filled in the gaps and transitions. Aurora Band, you all did a great job! You should be proud of your work and be honored that God continually uses us average joes.

Co-leading is a lot of work. I only had to sing half the time but still it completely drained me. Josh, I never knew how much just leading 4 songs could drain you, but now I know.

I also met some really cool people. Dr. Peter Cha, David Adrianoff, Cavlin Chen, Kathy Moua, and many, many, many more! David and I had a really good talk on Saturday morning, we must of talked for at least 2 hours straight about the Hmong church and the church in general. I wished I had more time to talk to everyone, now I know that I need to prep better so that I can take in more at an event. I only attended one track, even though I wanted to attend them all.

It really is a small world, what were the chances of Calvin Chen and Jeff Wu (who I haven’t seen in like 6 years) being God-Brothers! Crazy I tell ya! Calazy! It was good to see Jeff again and to know that he’s doing well. God bless you bro!

I really do hope that we did a good job. I know that on stage we had fun, but how was it on the other end? Any feedback would be great because we know that we’re not pros at this and we do it mainly because God continually calls us to lead. We don’t want to take anything that God gives us for granted and we always want to continually improve ourselves so if you could, any feedback would be great. You can leave them as comments or you can email me at johannyang@gmail.com. Thanks!

Aurorians, it’s always great to see you guys! I love just hanging out and being goofy with you guys! Peter, thanks for traveling with me! Isiah, thanks for helping me open up my cards! Jeremiah! Thanks for coming up! I know we didn’t get that much time to hang out but it’s always great to see you! Take care everybody! And God bless!

wow. reading everyone's post about HC3 has seriously encouraged us so much. hearing who was there... the speakers, the friends, wish we were there. but it was meant to be that you were there to lead worship. --mkx

I'm so happy that you got to play with the band again. Wish we could have been there, but I'm glad we weren't there because it gave you a reason to play there. I really love you man. You'll always be a part of our band. Who knows, maybe we can play together again. Josh Bilhorn did ask for us to play for the big, Intervarsity Regional Conference this year... but I had to decline since we are here. Josh out.
