friday nite was spent at pf chang's. we had to wait for well over an hour, but it was totally worth the wait. i truly enjoyed talking to everyone about whats been going on in their lives lately and catching up. =D *sigh* johan and i love spending time with everyone in IL and we think a lot about living down there. we are completely open to living in IL, MI, CA, or basically anywhere we find a job hehe. but for sure i have to live in chicago at least once in my life before i die!
saturday was spent in vietnamese town shopping and we also had pho for lunch. i felt so blessed that my "new" family made so much effort and took so much time to take us to chicago. i had a lot of fun! it was my first time in vietnamese town. here are some of johan's awesome findings in the shops:

sunday was spent cooking and eating TONS of great food with my parents. im so glad that jeremiah came to hang out too. he kept johan company. i love my family and feel so honored to be a part of this family in particular. i sometimes still get startled by the fact that im married and that i have another family. does this feeling ever go away? sometimes it feels strange that im married. i suppose its only been a few months, so i still need time to let it set in. . .
this is coming from someone who never thought she was going to get married you know? its quite frightening when suddenly the feeling comes over me and i realize that im a grown woman who is married. lol. i seriously never thought this day would come.......i told everyone i was going to be single forever! my goal was to make the first hmong alliance covenant for nuns! boy am i glad God proved me wrong haha.
johan and i got a chance to hang out with my friend bruce who's attending University of Chicago for his PhD. check out his view by the lake shore!

we went to dinner at joy yees! FINALLY! the food came out in such ridiculously huge plates and bowls, bruce and i couldn't believe our eyes. hahahaha. here are some pictures. i personally love the self-portrait of joy yee. LOL. (btw, i dont know why my face looks so weird. also, i can't believe how long my hair is! haha ok enuff random notes.)

all in all, it was an awesome weekend spent with family and friends. i look forward to the next time we can come down to IL and hang out again. i miss everyone already. :)

WOW! sounds like you guys had one JAM packed weekend! it might been better if i stayed here in MN. sounds like lots of money was spent! but yes, i wanted to ask you guys,
if you would be willing to sponsor me for bowling. it's for the College and Career group. we're trying to raise money to go to Thailand next year. so the deal is if you sponsor me, it'll only be 10 cents a pin, for 1 game. that's all. so lemme know. and you won't have to pay up right away. almost whenever. we're doing it tomorrow.
i'm totally bummed that i didn't get to see you this past weekend, pajjar! ..but! it's great to hear you guys had a good time down here! =)
hope to see you (two) soon!
