Magic Player Rewards

So I got my player reward cards the other day. I’m totally confused as to how to earn these cards because it’s so inconsistent. Last time I got only 2 textless cards, this time I get 2 textless cards and a foil textless card! To get a foil textless card you have to play at least 20 DCI sanctioned events, which I have but not within the past 3 months or 6 months. But I have played over 20 events in the past 9 months though. So I’m assuming that every 20 events you play you get 1 foil textless card and every 5 events you play within these distributions you get 2 regular textless cards… I’m so confused…

I am happy that I got my foil textless card but I am totally unhappy that it’s not a Cryptic Command! I worked my butt off trying to hit 20 events but because a couple places didn’t process these events in time I only had 19 events and didn’t get my foil textless Cryptic Command. So I gave up my hopes of getting that Cryptic because I thought that you had to play 20 events in between distribution dates, I didn’t know that it was cumulative! But curses… instead of getting this card…

WHAT! I know that Wizards wants every color to get their chance to have a foil textless card BUT COME ON! B had Damnation, which is an awesome card and a rare! U had Cryptic, which is also an awesome card and a rare. And red gets Lightning Bolt, which is a great card but IT’S NOT A RARE LIKE DAMNATION OR CRYPTIC! If I needed a powerful card that could turn the tide in a game, I would rather have a Damnation or a Cryptic, not a Lightning Bolt! I feel somewhat cheated… I’m going to try to sell this card over the weekend and see what I get for it. I know that it’s R’s turn to get a card but why Lightning Bolt? They should have picked a rare like Banefire or even an uncommon like Volcanic Fallout, BUT NOT A COMMON!

This weekend is the Zendikar pre-release. Right now it’s Blong, Peter, 2nd and me going to the big regional Pre-Release in MN. Chong and Vern are just going to go to the Source instead. It should be fun for everyone this weekend!

I’m hoping to boost my DCI score up another 10 points this weekend.

According to rumors, Wizards has repacked one out-of-print bomb/rare card in every 20 boxes. People all over the world have reported to of opening up a Mox Jet, a Mox Pearl, and various orginal Dual lands from packs of Zendikar! Deadly Perils, Priceless Treasures INDEED!!! These cards are not in mint condition but are in good to near min condition.

I like Extended and Legacy and would love to play Vintage Magic but it's just that it's too expensive and that these cards aren't accessible. With Wizards doing this, it's not going to hurt the price of these cards at all. Infact, it makes these eternal formats more playable because these cards are a little more accessible now. This was an awesome move by Wizards!
