u2 was awesum!!!!

we got our u2 tickets earlier this summer on a whim. johan talked about going but then decided against it cuz the tickets were so expensive. we chatted about it for a couple days and then when he went back to look at the prices on stubhub, i told him to just get the tickets because it would be a once in a lifetime event! he hesitated but i eventually talked him into it, so he bought our tickets! =) we ended up using our rent refund to buy the tix. that was the only way we could justify going...
its hard for us to spend so much money on something recreational like that when we are students and dirt poor. BUT we dont regularly do stuff like that, so i thought it would be nice to splurge on a concert. especially a concert like the u2 360 tour! johan has seen them in concert before, but i hadn't prior to this concert. man, it was sooo worth it!
we made our way to chicago on friday and like i blogged earlier we spent the weekend with my in-laws. on sunday when we went downtown, we grabbed lunch and hiked to buckingham fountain. we brought a blanket along and ate our lunch in the shade. johan took a nice nap while i played games on my touch. =) it was really relaxing and nice to have a lazy afternoon...it made me realize how much i take things for granted, like the beauty of sunlight seeping through the cracks of the trees.






here's johan before the concert. look at how huge the stage set up is!!! my boss from ann taylor is going to the show in virginia and i told her how huge and kool this stage is. ive never seen anything like it before. the stage allows the band to rotate around in a circle so that wherever you are seated you'll be able to get a great view of them throughout the concert. did i mention how kool and hot bono was? hahaha. when he came out man all the women were screaming (and the men!) haha when i told johan that bono was hot, johan was like, "yeah he's really kool." hehe!


i took a picture of the screen (there were actually 4 screens that went around in a circle) and got The Edge playing the guitar. he was so kool! i know johan was totally checking out all of his gear. during the concert johan talked about how he wanted to become a guitar tech. =) (for those of you who dont know wat that is-like me-they come out and fix/tune the guitars before the guitar players play for the concert.)


we took a few videos and tons of other pics, but thats all i wanted to put up cuz im too lazy lol. nothing will ever describe wat we experienced that nite anyways hehe. my goal for the next time i see u2 is to sit as close as i can to them. hopefully by that time, ill have a job so i wont feel so bad paying for such expensive tickets! lol.

on a different note, ive been in real need of some quiet time to myself. i had something to do every day last week. there was no stopping, just moving from place to place, so tonite is the first nite i got to stop and rest. =) sometimes life comes at you soo fast, you dont have time to stop, think, and pray. i have to manage my time better as you can see. johan and i finally got around to doing laundry, dishes, and cleaning the house. he's sitting in the living room watching monday nite football while i spent the nite in my room talking on the phone, painting my nails, blogging, listening to music and watching Friends! ahhh, the perfect way to spend the nite hehe.
