Baldness is Healthy

So I remember back in my sophomore year in high school when my hair started to recede. By my junior year, people who only saw me once a year or so, like my aunts and uncles would raise concern that I was balding like my grandfather. By my senior year, other high school students saw that my hair was thinning.

I honestly don’t care that I’m only 28 and going bald already. Since high school, I’ve always been very confident in myself and my abilities, so I never really cared what was happening to my hair. I kind of think it's cool to be bald, as long as your confident about yourself, that's all that matters.

My fellow bald brother: Sir Patrick Stewart as Capt. Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D)

Anyways, I just read that baldness “could” be good for your health! Yes! Western culture has always associated baldness with poor health or weak genetics. But alas! Baldness is a trait of high levels of the male hormone testosterone, which could lead to lower risks of prostate cancer. So yes, according to western medicine, I just have high levels of testosterone!

Here’s the article.

*Just a side note: nothing against Capt. Kirk but I grew up watching Star Trek: The Next Generation and Capt. Picard is my favorite because he's much more logical and moral. He's a diplomat of peace and co-existence, who understand the value of a being able to work well with his crew, while also being a strategic master in battle and in debate. But I do appreciate Kirk's craziness at times.
