bball, burgers, & npr

i haven't been keeping up with march madness, but i still can't believe kansas lost a few days ago. thats one of the reasons why i love college bball though. big upsets by the underdogs, guys playing their hearts out not cuz of $$$ (like the nba) but cuz of their love for the game, impossible shots and layups....sigh. how exciting! there's still plenty of bball to watch this season, so im gonna try to catch up. =) u know thats where i first saw dwyane wade haha. playing for marquette in '03!

i love npr! as kids, we always heard it in the car b/c my dad always had it on. when i was little, i'd be annoyed b/c i'd want to listen to pop music and top hits, but now that i'm older=i get it. hehe. and i love it. i leave it on at work in the background. so far i've heard broadcasts about how med schools might start requiring a personality test in addition to one-on-one interviews (luckily we didn't have that for law school haha), if there's any justice for the low income community if lawyers aren't/can't reach that community, and music from sxsw.

the other week i heard a broadcast by paul light, a professor at NYU. he spoke about social entrepreneurship. i love this topic...i wish i were so much smarter so that i could be a social entrepreneur. id be fortunate to even be a part of a social entrepreneur project in the future....my main passion is microlending...id love to be part of an organization like kiva loans even as a secretary! that'd be so awesum! so...ill keep dreaming....hehe.

last nite johan and i met my brother for dinner at tavern on france. johan was sold simply by the picture on their website featuring their burger, the WIDOWMAKER!!!!!!! i wish we would have taken pictures. check out the description:

A half pound fresh Angus beef seasoned topped with melted cheddar cheese, caramelized onion, Philly beef, mushrooms, Tavern four cheese sauce and onion strings, served on a grilled ciabatta bun with shredded lettuce and garlic aioli.

a burger WITH philly beef & cheddar!!!! johan said it was the best burger he's had so far. haha. on with our quest to find the best burger!

...

im just glad he didn't make me a widow by eating that whole burger lol.

I also love NPR. I listen from the internet here while I workout. It's great because I make my own program... just choose the news and stories I'm interested in. Instead of blocks of news, I get science, techonology, books, and music updates! Someday, I will donate to NPR. I haven't done so yet. But I will. -mkx

That Widowmaker is probably the best burger I've ever had. It was awesome! But I can only eat it once a year! Next we go there, I want to try something else anyways!
