Who Had the Best Decade?

Cheng was right, I totally forgot about Kanye West. He had a really good decade as well with College Dropout (2004), Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007), & 808s and Heartbreak (2008).

After getting a chance to think about it further, personally, the Passion record label had the best decade. They played a huge role in my spiritual development and still do.

But I also agree with NPR's: All Songs Considered (NPR: ASC). Radiohead also had the best decade. Kid A influenced Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, as well as every other musician in the world.

15 Steps by Radiohead. I love the opening line in this song: "How come I end up where I started?"

Then in 2007, one of the biggest bands in the world does something totally crazy! They did something that shook the music industry! They offered "In Rainbows" for free... and they did it legally. I'm not talking Napster or Limeware or FTP sites or Torrent sites. I'm talking, if you want our new CD then go ahead and download it from our website and pay us what ever you think it's worth. I personally downloaded it for free and then bought it when it was officially released in stores.

The music industry has changed a lot in the past 15 years. iTunes now sells more music than anyone, including Wal-Mart in the U.S. People download music ILLEGALLY all the time and Radiohead knew the inevitable. Since 2007 and the Radiohead "In Rainbows" situation, I've downloaded about 6-8 free albums/EPs legally from artists.

Music-wise, Radiohead had a great decade, music industry-wise, Radiohead had a great decade. Personally and spiritually, the Passion record label also had a great decade.
