we stayed at caesars palace and omg it was soooooo nice! the first nite we got there i was awed by all the roman statutes everywhere! these are the fountains in front of the hotel:
next to caesar's, there's a shopping center called The Forum Shops and its every shopper's paradise. designer names like: dolce & gabbana, versace, bvlgari, armani, gucci, etc were examples of the stores you could find at the Shops. of course i couldn't afford anything at these places, so i just ohh'ed and aww'ed as i toured alone during the day. The Forum Shops had areas of the mall where the ceilings were painted like the skies and this was an area called, The Fountain of the Gods:
one of the hotels i was really excited to check out was the venetian! =D its the hotel everyone always sees in the movies (including hana yori dango lol i know im such a nerd) where people get to ride on the romantic gondolas and the guys in the striped shirts are singing in italian through the hotel and out into the streets where you feel like a star because everyone's looking at you. hehe. thats why johan didn't want to ride it though-cuz everyone would be looking at us. so we didn't ride it and just took pictures of people riding the gondolas. i told him maybe next time we go to vegas we should rite it because its so inexpensive ($10-$15) to experience a ride through the Grand Canal!
a nice surprise was at the palazzo where they had a room of umbrellas! i was reminded of mary poppins and how she would fly down on her umbrella. you cant tell, but the umbrella's had blue lights that would streak down the handles which would appear as though rain was coming down. or at least thats wat it seemed like to me hehe.
the very first nite we arrived, we saw paris las vegas and johan said to me, "look there's paris. i promised i'd take you one day, so we'll go later this week." hahaha--good one hun. you don't know, but ive been complaining to johan about visiting france. all my life ive wanted to go there, and i proposed a trip to france when i graduate this december. johan gave a firm "no" but im still working on him. i told him i could go w/o him if he'd let cuz i have family out there, so we'll see. hehe. im gonna try to break him down. if not this year, definitely SOON. =)

while johan worked very hard each day, i would basically work on my tan. lol. trust me, its not very often where i get to vacation and sit by the pool. actually, i told johan that this was the first vacation where i actually did NOTHING! whenever i vacationed with my family in the past, we would wake up early and set out to do and see all the touristy stuff. not a thing was to be missed! this was true when we went to orlando, san diego, yosemite, canada, etc. so it was pretty nice chillin by the pool and laying out in the sun.

my most FAVORITE part of the trip tho, was watching the water shows at the Bellagio. i was like a little child mesmerized by the water movements to particular songs with my chin resting in my hands. i loved it! it was so amazing! hehe. i truly loved it. one of the water shows we caught was performed to frank sinatra's "luck be a lady" and i thought to myself: i should not go a day w/o listening to frank sinatra. hehe. his music and lyrics are so fun and one of my ultimate favorite songs is "the way you look tonite."
well thats it for now. we're back at home, its a sunday nite, and we're back to work early tomorrow morning. i hope everyone had a good fourth of july and although we wished our vacation could be extended, we are happy to be back home with family and friends. summer is already frighteningly half over, so we want to enjoy and relish in wat little time we have left before fall arrives.
have a great week!

Hi j&p!
The wedding will be on August 8, 2009 at 12 noon! The ceremony will be in Oostburg, WI (about 15-20 minutes away from Sheboygan) and the reception will be in Sheboygan at a School. We sent invites to Vern so he should be distributing them once he receives them! Hope that helps….!

Pajar!! Hey my dear!! I hope I spelled your name right, but if I spelled it wrong, then I am so sorry! Anyway, omg, those pictures that you posted up look beautiful! Thailand is wonderful, I am sure you read Maisue's blogs about our journey and how I talked a lot..lol. Anyways, I had a lot of fun with her and now I am back teaching, same stuff every day, but I do try to do new stuff every weekend. Keep me updated on you and marriage life. You are a sweetheart and I can't wait to see you soon again when I get back!!

PJ you're so silly, you wrote "i was awed by all the roman statutes everywhere" - stop thinking law. heheh...I see law school is getting to you too huh? I don't think we can ever escape it. It was great reading your blog. I'm glad you had fun! I miss you mucho grande! Enjoy the rest of your summer.
I'm so glad you had a good time doing a whole bunch of nothing in Las Vegas - for most of the day, anyway. And I did kinda miss your posts. Both of you. I wondered what was going on...
I think Las Vegas would be nice to do with a good group of people. I have no desire to go, but it's nice to go somewhere with lots to do and lots going on.
I hope you make it to the real Paris one day. My dream place to visit is Egypt.
