5CC is my probably my favorite deck of all time. It’s definitely made me a better Magic player. I’ve never been an agro or control player, I just played whatever I wanted. After 5CC, I’ve come to respect and appreciate control decks. To me, it’s about resource management and knowing your opponents better than they know themselves. It’s about having a mental “thought tree” where every decision leads to even more situations, which leads to even more decisions. If I could “thought map” what’s in my head when I play competitively it could cover walls. I love it! It’s like playing chess and using “end game” theories.
But alas, there will be day when 5CC dies. I doubt it will reemerge in Extended because it’s too slow and clunky. But up from the ashes will rise traditional control decks that are limited to a few colors. I can’t wait for that day either! Being able to produce practically any Mana of any choice made 5CC too easy to build.

Hello Mr. Aramis Ramirez! Thank you for coming back and re-stabilizing our lineup. I hope you stay healthy and give us a chance to play some baseball in October. The trade deadline is 2 days away but I doubt the Cubs will make any moves because of the uncertainty of whether they will file for bankruptcy or not. But when Soto, Lilly, and Dempster come back, that definitely should help. Gaining 3 players for nothing is always a good swing.
