The Lovely Bones

I remember seeing this book cover all over the place in Chicago when I lived there. A lot of people were reading it but it seemed like a feminine book to me so I never gave it much attention. I also remember in English class, a girl was giving a report about it and it seemed interesting. She pretty much gave a synopsis of the book so that was pretty much the ultimate spoiler, killing all hope of me reading this book.

At that time, the Lord of the Ring Trilogy was going strong and the name Peter Jackson started to become really popular. Also at that time, U2 just released All That You Can Leave Behind and one of the producers of that album, Brian Eno, also started to become really familiar with me.

6 years later, Peter Jackson, who has lost a lot of weight, is directing the Lovely Bones, and Brian Eno is scoring it. I have to admit, this plot seems like a plot that I’ve seen many times before, but there’s just something about the music and how it’s shot that makes it way more interesting.
