weakling

i am the opposite of wonderwoman. its like i have this "carrying heavy things" complex or something. whenever i carry heavy boxes or bags, people just want to help me. i cant explain it! hahaha.

case in point:
today at school i had 7 inkjet printers to bring to the dock for pick-up. as i was walking through the hallway carrying the first two boxes, 2 maintenance guys stopped wat they were doing (painting) and offered to bring them for me instead. afterwards i thanked them and said i could use their cart to carry the rest. they declined and said, "no, no. we'll just follow you back and carry the rest."

when we were helping cheng and anna move into their new apartment, i was bringing one of the twins in their carseat down the stairs when this lady (one of the tenants) came up to me and offered to carry the baby for me. i felt horrible because when we walked past everyone waiting outside, cheng's face was so confused! i know he was thinking: "why are you giving my baby to a complete stranger?!!" hahaha. (same thing happened when i brought the other twin down-the lady assisted me!)

i dont know what it is? do i look that helpless and weak? my family seem to think im just being lazy, but honestly i offer to do it myself! haha. but people are just like "no, no, let me do it for you." haha. i think it all started when i was living in hong kong and my friends and i would go grocery shopping together. the grocery store was like 2 blocks away, but i would always trail behind my friends when coming home because my bags were so heavy. random strangers would see me pausing to take a break from carrying the groceries and offer to help me carry it to my apartment. when i would arrive at the building trailing behind the stranger empty-handed, my friends jaws would drop and they wouldn't believe that i didn't carry my own groceries home. haha!

its not like im complaining. its just that it always happens to me. if only i could find a job where i had to lift heavy things for a living. then people would always offer to do it for me, and i would just sit back and relax! hahaha.
