Magic Game Day: M10

Magic Game Day is this Saturday! Should you go? YES YOU SHOULD!!! EVERYONE SHOULD GO!!! WHY? HERE ARE MY REASONS WHY!!!

1. It’s being held at many locations; most larger FNM locations are holding it. Meaning that the competition level will be on par with your average FNM.

2. It’s a great “gateway” tournament. It’s a “competitive” rules enforced tournament but it’s not a Grand Prix or Pro Tour Qualifier or SCG $5K tournament. It’s in between those Pro level tournaments and your average FNM tournament. It’s a great tournament for us competitive casual players.

3. It cuts to the top 4/8 after X rounds of Swiss. Playing in a top 4/8 environment is a great way to up your game. It gives you a taste of what the Pros experience. It pushes you to play at your best!

4. There will be at least 4 rounds of Swiss, maybe more depending on attendance. It’s a great place to start conditioning your mind to playing 4+ rounds of Magic. I know that I need to work on this, this was my downfall at the SGC $5K. After 6 rounds of competitive Magic at the SCG $5K, my brain was fried! I need to work on this!

5. With 4+ rounds of Magic and the potential of 8+ rounds in a competitive environment similar to your average FNM, IT’S A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN LOTS OF DCI POINTS! DID YOU HEAR THAT IL? If you go 4-2, you could easily gain 25+ points for your DCI ranking! If you go 7-0 or win the whole thing you could easily gain 50+ points! EASILY!!! These are “competitive” rule enforced tournaments, which means you gain and lose points faster than your average FNM! Go win some DCI points!

6. Plus, Wizards is planning to run these Magic Days a month after every new set comes out, these Magic Days are amazing opportunities to gain points faster in a easier environment! No more complaining about not being able to make it to FNM for DCI points because now you have Magic Game Days!

7. You get a free Promo card, granted it’s Naya Soujoners and the top 8 also get a Promo Mycoid Shepards. I know these Promo’s aren't the greatest but at least you get something! Most places are also offering packs as prizes as well.

8. If you win it all, you become the Magic Day Champion! Granted it’s only a certificate, but I honestly wouldn’t mind coming home with this either, kekeke!

So should you go? Yes, you should! Am I going? Hahaha, maybe, I have to fix my struts and shocks, but it looks like it might rain Saturday so I might go after all. We'll see what happens! Are any of you guys planning to go?
