Wow, this actually looks really good! I really like where they're taking this reboot of the X-Men series. They're refocusing on what the center piece to the X-Men world really is:
The relationship between Charles Xavier (left) & Erik Lensherr, aka Magnetto (right). When they were young, they were friends. As they got older, they turned their seperate ways. Magnetto is driven to protect mutants and therefore destroy humans. He sees himself as the next phase of evolution of humans, plus his parents were killed in a concentration camp, which also drives his hate for humans. Xavier is driven to have humans and mutants live in harmony. But humans don't care if Xavier or the X-Men are good, so the X-Men are stuck in the middle, fighting off evil mutants and protecting humans.
Reading X-Men comics growing up, really made me realize how nasty we, as humans, could really be. Humans in X-Men comics, really hated mutants! At a young age, I saw this prejuidice parallel to the real world, that there's still a lot of racism and prejuidice in this world. When I was in grade school, getting picked on because I was one of less than 3 asains in my school, I knew that I had to be like the X-Men. I know that sounds corny, but for a 2nd grader, it provided strength to not fight back and fight forward towards understanding.I expect this rebooting of movies to be more common in the future, especially since there's a new Spider Man in the works. That's how it is in the comic book world. They introduce you to a new group of super heros, you get accustomed to them, and then they reboot the series to give you more information about those super hero's past and other relationships. The reboot allows you to dig deeper into these characters. Plus, they make more money off it too.
Have a great weekend everyone!
