So based upon some of the things that I've been reading; blogs, magazines, tweets, Winning with People by John Maxwell, It Came from Within! by Andy Stanley, etc.
And some things that I've been listening to; sermons, podcasts, The Magnetic Field's 69 Love Songs 3 CD set (which can be sampled and downloaded from Amazon for $5 per each CD). Here are some things that I've realized about my marriage.- I love my wife! I seriously do! I love the companionship and the peace that it brings me. Society may feel that marriage is no longer necessary, or that it'll only limit the fun in your life, blah, blah, blah. But I love being married to Pajjar! Marriage is the best place to learn about yourself and your ability to work with others. You may be able to accomplish a lot in your life by yourself, but imagine if you and someone else worked toward the same goals. You two together could accomplish more than you could by yourself. Successful companies and organizations understand this principle.
- I love trying to taking care of my wife. I fail at times but I love learning how to help her and meet her needs, and so does she. The trying, failing, and learning process of trying to be everything for Pajjar is just as important as succesfully getting right the first time. To me people are the most valuable things in this world, more valuable than any amount of money or wealth. If you can take care of a person, then you can take care of anything. If you, as a boss, can take care of 3 employees/customers, your employer and/or the market will give you the opportunity to take care of more employees/customers. If you can take care of 7+ employees/customers, then your employer and/or the market will give you the opportunity to take care of even more employees/customers, who are even more talented and resourceful then the previous group. If you can take care of people, more and more opportunities will present themselves to you. In marriage, if you can learn how to take care of your spouse, you can take care of anything.
- I love my wife!
- I've made it a goal this year to dress better and to get into better shape. I honestly believe that being overweight is a spiritual issue. I know that it is for me. If you don't believe me, then read the Bible. I also believe that trying too hard to stay skinny or being overweight and desiring to be skinny is a spiritual issue. Me realizing that my weight is not just a physical but a spiritual issue, is the main reason why I want to be healthier, not just because I want to live longer, but because I want to live a spirutually stronger and healthier, longer life.
***Warning! This next section maybe more than you want to know, but I hope that it inspires you! So read it for inspiration, not discrimination! Or don't read it all!***
Another reason why I want to dress better and get healthier is for Pajjar. I love her more than anything! I love her more than I thought I could ever love anyone! I want to look good for Pajjar! Who wouldn't want their spouse to look good for them? I know I do! I want to look good dressed for Pajjar and I want to look good naked for Pajjar! YES! I just said I want to look good clothed and naked for my bride! Yes, physical appearance isn't everything, there are other more pressing needs in a marriage. But this is one that I know that I've dropped the ball on. Time to get into shape, take care of myself, adjust my wardrobe, and take care of my bride!
