The Tonight Show WITH CONAN O'BRIEN!!!

Friday night Pajjar and I went to go hangout with Cheng, Anna, Leng, Peyton, and Taylor. It was pretty mindblowing stuff. I can’t imagine having twins, but I can’t imagine a better blessing. Like I said, mindblowing stuff.

So tonight is the debut of The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. Conan is probably my favorite late night show host, followed by Leno and then Letterman. There are times where I like Letterman more than Leno, but Leno does make me laugh more. But on the other hand, I have learned more about leading worship and speaking in front of others from Letterman than any other person on television.

Here’s a quote about David Letterman's influence on Rob Bell from ChristianCentury.org, “He says Letterman isn't a bad example for pastors, since he's been on television every night for 20 years, engaging the culture. "What's my job again?" says Bell. "To engage our culture!"

5 Faeries decks topped 8’ed in Grand Prix: Seattle/Tacoma. Decks with Volcanic Fallout should be making a comeback. Not so much Boat Brew but mainly 5CC, 5CB, or Jund Aggro. Currently I’m playing with two decks: 5CB (Chapin’s Build w/ no Volcanic Fallouts or Putrid Leeches) and W/G Tokens (my own build that seems to be doing okay, it only has 19 lands but runs 4 Borderposts & Knight of the White Orchard. These two cards have awesome interaction with each other: play a Borderpost, bounce a land, play the Knight, a Plains comes into play, play the bounced land. That subtle mana ramp is such a huge tempo advantage.)

It seems like Sygg, River Cutthroat is the new tech for 5CB, which makes a lot of sense. For a little while, Sygg was popping up in Faerie decks because it could survive Fallout and was a decent 2-drop with card draw ability. He makes complete sense in a 5CB deck! Bloodbraid cascades into Sygg, then Bloodbraid hits for 3 and you draw a card. Finks can also trigger Sygg’s ability. Plus with Volanic Fallout, it sweeps the board except for Sygg, then Sygg attacks for 1, netting you a free card.

Peter and I have come to the conclusion that Anathemancer, as of right now, isn’t as great as a lot of people think it is, well at least not in your typical FNM environment. There were so many times where I would draw Anathemancer and wished that it was something else like a Volcanic Fallout or an Incinerate. Normally Anathemancer would only do 1 or 2 damage from its ability.

Pajjar went to go see "Up" this past weekend and came home in tears. It's been getting really good reviews. 2nd and Linda went to go see it too and Linda cried. RottenTomatos is giving it 98% right now. I definetly will try to see it as soon as I can.
