the other day i came home from a lonnnggg day at work and school and i just wanted to relax. it was really nice because johan made dinner, so all i had to do was change into my lounge clothes and sit on the couch. haha. (for those of you who don't know, im the couch potato between me and johan.)
usually at this time johan lets me watch watever i want, which is usually HGTV (anna! you know wat im talking about!) hahaha. but that day he didn't say: "hun, you can watch watever you want." instead he asked if he could watch these short stories on ESPN. the first one we watched was about the baltimore colts entitled "the band that wouldn't die." i had NO idea how amazing this city was and now i have a newfound respect for them. their football band has the kind of faith, bond, and commitment that you only hear about in the movies.
basically, the colts were originally from baltimore, but got sold to indianapolis bc of their horrible coach (*correction: owner, thanks hun.) the entire city loved the football team, so much so, that they had their own band. even after the football team moved to IN the band continued to play together at different events in the city and later even played at stadiums for other NFL teams.
i couldn't believe the kind of attachment the fans had to the team. even 25 years later the fans were still crying. GROWN MEN with tears running down their faces. while i watched the program, i even had some tears and cried as the fans grieved over their team. it was pretty sad how things went down. one random winter nite, multiple huge trucks came to pick up all of the Colts equipment and belongings and snuck off in the middle of the nite. some people got wind of it, but it wasn't official until the next morning.
wats sad is how their coach (*correction: owner) who was this total jerk kept denying that he was going to sell the team. he actually got mad at the fans for "hanging" him on other dumb things, but it was really him who was betraying the city and team. i dont know why but i got so caught up watching the show! hehe. i cried because i thought of how this band had no football team but they kept meeting and playing during the 12 years before the ravens came to baltimore. i wondered if i would have that same capability to dream and hope in my own personal life. funnie, but ESPN makes me cry sometimes with these inspirational stories.

It was actually thier owner who sold them to IN, after Arizona denied them.
