for the ladies!

so i love watching makeover shows and when we had cable i'd watch tim's show all the time. i thought i'd post something up for the GIRLS about the 10 essentials that every woman needs in her closet because johan keeps flooding our blog with MAGIC THE GATHERING posts! haha. i need something girly in here!

ive been trying to make sure that i have these KEY pieces in my wardrobe because it really makes a difference. every girl needs a few essentials in her closet that will last through the years! plus im not one to care about where i shop--it may come from target, macys, the limited, kohls, or ann taylor, as long as it looks good and i like it, then ill buy it! =)

1. LBD-the little black dress. everyone needs a LBD! you should have a flattering LBD so that whenever you need a quick go-to dress at the last minute you have this LBD that looks great on you AND its easy to dress up with simple accessories.

2. Trench Coat-find a trench coat thats the right length for you. its a great piece to throw on during the fall and spring. it'll work with jeans and dresses. its a classy piece that will last you a long time.

3. Classic Dresspants-i prefer black, but then again i love having black in my wardrobe. black is slimming! These dresspants should go with just about everything in your wardrobe.

4. Versatile Skirt-A skirt that you can dress up with a blouse for work, but you can also pair with something fun on top to go out later with friends.

5. Fitted Blazer-everyone woman needs a fitted blazer that they can wear to interviews and meetings. This blazer would look great with jeans and heels or with your dress pants and skirt for work!

6. Classic White Shirt-i love the classic white shirts. they go great with pencil skirts, jeans, and dress pants. its definitely something that should be in your closet.

7. Day Dress-im still on the look-out for a day dress. here are a couple that i think could work:
the black wrap dress is casual enough that you could wear it with some strappy sandals or wedges. but its versatile so that you could wear heels and dress it up with a chunky necklace for an event.
the second dress is a fun print and with a thick black belt it brings the focus to her small waist. again you could wear it dressed up for work with heels and a long sweater or dressed down for a casual look.
(i know they're both black, but thats because i have issues! haha you could look for a day dress thats NOT black of course.)

8. Cashmere Sweater-a great item to wear with denim or paired with a blouse underneath and wear it with a skirt!

9. Perfect-Fit Jeans-jeans that look great on you and are slimming! makes your butt look great and your legs! haha. i really like dark denim and i find that its more flattering than light washes.

10. Alternative to Sweatsuit-a comfortable outfit that you can wear lounging around or to the grocery store, but it's not a sweatsuit! Tim says never wear a track suit!! haha. i dont own one, but i always see girls wearing them at the mall or gym. maybe a pair of khakis, a cotton dress, etc.

Lastly, tim suggests trendy items for your closet. an animal print accessory like headband or bracelet. a ruffled top or purse. a graphic scarf. embellished flats. a boyfriend jacket. printed blouses.

YEA! i feel girly now. haha. mission accomplished. i have to keep up with all of johan's "boy" posts. girl power!

Very nice hun! There do need to be more non-magic posts up here. You should put up more posts like this, the diversity is good!

Pajjar!

this is the greatest post in the history of Pajjar! honest. i'm a guy and i totally loved this post. i agree with you, or rather Tim, on almost all of these. the only one i conflict with is the classic white tee shirt. it just makes me think trashy.

anyway, i'll be on the lookout for these items for Mai Kao.

josh out.
