Sunday Random'ness

It’s Sunday night, I’m eating a bowl of generic Golden Grahams, my wife’s listening to the incredible Andrew Bird, and I’m looking at the results from Grand Prix Kobe this past weekend.

If you don’t know who Andrew Bird, check out this video:

There are a bunch of awesome videos of him on YouTube. He’s a violin child prodigy turned indie pop star. For all the geeks out there, he loops a lot of violin and his own whistling on two Line 6 DL4s.

I love it when there are M:TG events in Japan. I love combing through all of the deck lists because they’re such dang deck innovators. My favorite deck of the weekend so far is Kenji Hamamoto’s Scepter Zoo.

That’s right! That’s an ISOCHRON SCEPTER WITH AN IMPRINTED PATH TO EXILE IN JAPANESE! That’s pretty much game over. His deck had 3 Scepters with 4 Path to Exiles, 4 Incinerates, & 4 Lightning Helix. It’s giving me ideas for my Ext. Zoo deck. Just Friday night Vern was eyeing my two Isochron Scepters, haha! Vern deserves to be in ranks of those Japanese players.

I’m excited for my church. Over the past two and half years we’ve been going over Matthew chapters 5-7, pretty much the Sermon on the Mount. The next couple of years we will be going over the parables of Jesus. I can’t wait! When you fully understand what a parable is saying, it will blow your mind and rock your world! You instantly feel the weight of what those people were feeling when they first heard Jesus say it. Can’t wait! CAN’T WAIT!!!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Happy birthday Yij Geu!!!
